Hello Eveyone!
A mother's knowledge is something that should be cherished and never let go. There are times though when we're young that we forget that a mother truly cares for us when they say "Don't wear this" or "Why do you do this" or "I don't want you hanging around with him because i don't like him or the way he looks." And we as teenagers tend to think that maybe our parents don't love us. But that's not true, our parents are like that because they are concerned about our safety and want us to do better in life.
There have been many times, especially when i told my parents that i want to act where they didn't and still don't agree on me becoming an actress because you have to have enough money saved in order to move to Hollywood, do and buy headshots, rent an aparment, and have transportation to o to auditons in order to get acting jobs. At first when my parents told me to just foget about acting and do anothe short career like teaching, or nursing. I was thinking "okay my parents don't want me to do what i always dreamed of doing because its so interesting and fun. They are forcing me to do something else that i do not want to do." But then later n i relaized that what my own mom was trying to tell me was to first look for a job so i can save enough money in order to be able to support myself while looking for acting jobs. Because seriousy doing auditions and looking for acting jobs takes time, months, even years until you get discovered or get an acting job in movies or television shows. I can't tell you its going to be easy but its possible 100% if you try your best and never give up.
I have read this acting book called Act Now that i got from the library and there's a part in the book where it says that many people are not going to believe you when you tell them that yu want to act. They're going to think that you're just playing around or say she's just going through a phase, she'll get over it and soon change her mind and not want to act again." Well certainly that's what my parents thought when i told them at fifteen that i really want to do that. And although my mom still insists on me becoming a teacher, i just lie to her and tell her that i am but deep inside i want to be an actress more than anything.
When you're a teenager its hard to live your own dreams, to make them come true when there are grownups or other people agaisnt your goals and dreams. Don't let those people tear your hopes and dreams away from you, have faith that someday the light of succeess that you've been dreaming of will one day come your way, one way or the other, sooner or later. Have patience and faith.
