I never knew
How much I would get to miss you until
I saw the pictures of you and me hidden under my bed
with dust from years of never touching them.
I pick them up and see the smiles of you and me
and go back to the time when you and me never knew
what the future had in store for us.
I remember your soft sweet caresses, your encouraging words
that never let me give up each day because everyday i knew was filled
of only you
each day was only you, and your mesmerizing eyes
that would leave me breathless every time i looked at you.
I never knew how much I would get to miss you until
I saw the pictures of you and me with smiles on our faces
doing only what we loved best to do: love, live the present without
a care in the world
But now that you're gone I don't know who I want to be
The window in my life is still fuzzy and unclear.
I never knew
how much I would get to miss you until
I let you go.
